PRINCESSHAY’S TOPSHOP ACHIEVES NATIONAL RECOGNITION FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE

Date: 20 Jul 2009

Topshop in Princesshay has been named one of the top 3 performing teams for customer service in the whole of the UK, competing against all 300 Topshop stores. Judged on passion, team morale, customer service and overall performance, the Exeter store has worked hard to prove that they are the ultimate team worthy of the top prize – a city break to a European destination for the whole team!

Store Manager Elaine Shapland coordinated daily entries into an ‘ultimate customer service’ diary demonstrating the efforts and successes of her team. This included highlighting thank you letters from members of the public, on the exceptional experience and service they’d received in store, as well as presenting the positive and hard working nature of the team. Following the application, the Topshop Regional Controller visited the store and mystery shopper assessments and spot checks were undertaken

The three best performing Topshop stores in the country, which includes Exeter, have now been shortlisted and the overall winner will be announced in August this year. The two other stores, the Princesshay Topshop team will be competing against, are located in Liverpool and Glasgow.
Elaine Shapland, Store Manager of Topshop in Princesshay said, “We’re absolutely thrilled to have been named one of the top 3 performing Topshop stores in the country. My team here in Exeter are second to none and this award recognition has helped boost morale and enthusiasm.”

Becky Payne, who works in Princesshay’s Topshop, has been nominated for the national individual ultimate service award, recently finding out she has made it to the final three. Nominated by her Store Manager, Becky had to submit an entry detailing why she deserved the accolade and grand prize. This involved making presentations and demonstrating her skills and understanding of what ultimate customer service involves.

Feedback from the Regional Controller on Becky’s performance highlighted her outstanding people skills and personal service, giving her an excellent chance of winning the top prize of an all expenses paid trip for two weeks anywhere in the world!

Wayne Pearce, Princesshay Centre Director said, “This is fantastic news and recognition for the Topshop team in Princesshay, who really take pride in offering their customers the best possible customer service. The award is thoroughly deserved and a great boost of the whole team.”

The final results of both the store and individual Topshop ultimate service awards will be announced later this year in August.
