POPULAR RESTAURANT CONFIRMS OPENING IN PRINCESSHAY
Date: 20 Jul 2009
The celebrated restaurant group Carluccio’s is set to open a brand new combined caffe, restaurant and foodshop in Exeter’s Princesshay shopping quarter. Following final negotiations, the exciting new name has officially signed up for a unit and will open for trade in August this year. Carluccio’s will bring authentic Italian dishes with everything from light antipasti and salads to heart-warming main courses and decadent desserts.
Founded in 1991 by celebrity chef Antonio Carluccio and his wife Priscilla, the much loved restaurant brand now has 41 outlets across the UK, serving up fresh and delicious dishes made from the best ingredients sourced from every region in Italy.
Due to open this summer trading from the former Orange Tree unit on Bedford Street, the new restaurant will welcome diners throughout the day while the foodshop will entice shoppers in search of delicious Italian gifts or treats to take home. Perfect for that last minute dinner party or grabbing lunch on the go!
Wayne Pearce, Princesshay Centre Director said, “We’re absolutely thrilled to be announcing this latest signing in Princesshay and a new name for the city. We’ve continued to receive interest in our available units from a range of retailers and restaurants and hope to be announcing further signings in the coming months. Carluccio’s is a very successful and popular brand and we’re truly delighted to have them joining us in Princesshay.”
Simon Kossoff, Managing Director of Carluccio’s said, "We will be delighted to join the other food outlets in the Princesshay shopping centre when we open our latest Carluccio's caffè there this summer. Visitors to Exeter's shopping quarter will now have the chance to taste real regional Italian food including everything from a quick coffee to a three course meal in the restaurant, a chance to pick up some authentic Italian gifts in the foodshop or take away some freshly prepared food in the deli to enjoy at home."
So whether you want to enjoy breakfast, a busy bustling lunch, a quiet meeting in the afternoon or relaxing candlelit supper, Carluccio’s will service up a larder of Italian specialties with careful, friendly service.
John Harvey, Exeter City Center Manager said, “This is fantastic news for Exeter with another new name opening for business in the city. The continued interest from retailers and restaurants in available units across Exeter is really encouraging.”
