PRINCESSHAY TEAMS ABSEIL FOR CHARITY

Date: 27 Jan 2010

HEARTS WILL BE RACING THIS VALENTINE'S AS PRINCESSHAY TEAMS ABSEIL FOR CHARITY.

Over 40 plucky Princesshay employees from the centre management team and the shopping quarter’s retailers and restaurants will be launching themselves off the top of the former Debenhams building on Saturday 13th February, in a bid to raise money for the NSPCC South West Child’s Voice Appeal.
Sure to get the pulses racing, each participant will abseil 140ft from the top of the former Debenhams roof to the street below!
Wayne Pearce, Princesshay’s Centre Director said, “I’ve never done an abseil before so to say I’m slightly nervous is an understatement! However, our focus must be on raising money for this fantastic local charity, which provides invaluable support and advice to thousands of young people across the region.”
The Princesshay shopping quarter is taking part in the Express and Echo Dragon’s challenge which has tasked a number of businesses in Exeter to raise £5000 by the end of March. All sponsorship money raised by each abseiler will be donated to the cause.
The following retailers and restaurants in Princesshay have all put forward employees to take part. These are Debenhams, Beaverbrooks, Faith, Fat Face, Ann Harvey, Musto, Reiss, Schuh, Disney, Build a Bear, Schuh, Topshop and Wagamama

Anna Westmoreland, Debenhams Cosmetics Sales Manager said, “Five of us from Debenhams have risen to the challenge and will be abseiling off the top of our old store! I’m feeling a mixture of nervousness, excitement and anticipation but I’m determined to do it and raise loads of money for the NSPCC South West Child’s Voice Appeal.”
Tamsin Hannan, Store Manager of Musto Exeter said, “We’re so excited to be doing this challenge and especially for such a worthwhile cause. They’ll be five of us jumping off on Saturday 13th Feb and we’ll all be wearing the new Spring collection from our shop, Musto. Look out for us in our pink hoodies!”
