Exeter Red Coat Guided Tours
A range of free, guided walking tours offering an excellent way to learn more about Exeter's history. The tours take in the city centre's most noteworthy sites, some of which you can only visit during a Red Coat Tour.

Underground Passages

Tuckers Hall
Located on Exeter’s Fore Street, Tuckers Hall is home to the medieval guildhall of the Weavers, Fullers and Shearman, whose
member contributed so much to the prosperity of Exeter. Tuckers Hall is open from June – September every Tuesday.

Catacomb and the Mint
Consecrated in 1837, the catacomb is explored by torchlight and can only be visited on a guided tour. This tour also includes
a visit to 21 the Mint (subject to opening times). Formerly the refectory of the Benedictine Priory of St Nicholas, this building
has now been lovingly restored to reveal a fascinating and varied past.

Royal Albert Memorial Museum

Spacex Gallery
Established in 1978 by an Exeter-based artist’s co-operative, extending the SPACE philosophy of artist-led studios and exhibitions
initiatives for the first time beyond London. A Spacex Children’s Art Club is also run at the gallery.

Quay House Visitor Centre
The Quay House was re-built in 1680-01 at the height of Exeter's woollen cloth industry and was used to store cloth and other goods before they were loaded and transported down the canal. Today the history and develop men of Exeter's Quayside is brought to life with lively displays, illustrations and artefacts. There is also the opportunity to see "Exeter - 2000 years of history" an exciting audio-visual presentation highlighting Exeter's history from Roman times to the present day.

St Nicholas Priory
originally part of a medieval priory, this splendid building was later lived in by the wealthy Hurst family. It is now presented as their furnished Elizabethan town house with replica furniture, sumptuous fabrics and rich colours.
